About Victor Hu
Victor has completed ophthalmology training in the UK. He is currently undertaking the Corneal Fellowship at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. He has an interest in cornea, glaucoma and overseas ophthalmology. After living in Tanzania for three years he completed a PhD on the pathogenesis of trachomatous scarring with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, resulting in several high profile publications. Victor is involved with several ongoing trachoma studies, as well as research on the use of in vivo confocal microscopy. Victor was the lead coordinator of the Vision2020 Link Programme between the eye units at University Hospitals Birmingham and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Tanzania between 2012-16. This Link provides training and support and involves several visits each year by ophthalmologists and allied professionals between the units, with the aim of reducing preventable blindness.
