In general vitrectomy is a highly effective surgical intervention for specific retinal conditions including epiretinal membrane removal.  This video discusses a particular case of poor vision following vitrectomy due to to focal retinal nerve fibre layer damage.  This complication was not readily apparent until further investigation by field analysis and OCT scan.

He is also a Visiting Professor to the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology). He is Honorary Professor of Glaucoma at the Centre for Health and Social Care Improvement at the University of Wolverhampton.
