Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT)

SLT has created a paradigm shift in the way glaucoma is managed.  It provides primary treatment especially if drops are not tolerated or compliance is poor and provides further options if patients are on maximally tolerated medications rpior to more invasive surgical intervention.  This lectures covers the physiological effect of the laser, practical applications and explores in depth the potentil complications and how to avoid them.

Professor Peter Shah is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Supra-Regional Glaucoma Specialist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. He is also a Visiting Professor to the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology). He is Honorary Professor of Glaucoma at the Centre for Health and Social Care Improvement at the University of Wolverhampton.
