The Impact of Ocular Surface Disease in Glaucoma

Management of the ocular surface impacts all of our patients. It can determine eyedrop side-effects and compliance to the medications. The short term recovery after surgery and the longer term success of surgery is intrinsically related to the health of the ocular surface. This video presents methods to optimise the treatment of ocular surface disease, in order to maximise the benefits to the patient.

Professor Peter Shah is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Supra-Regional Glaucoma Specialist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. He is also a Visiting Professor to the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology). He is Honorary Professor of Glaucoma at the Centre for Health and Social Care Improvement at the University of Wolverhampton.
